A visit from a valued friend 

I’m simply amazed. I’ve been in Africa for around 30 years, and for most of that time teaching pastors. I have observed many pastors and a good few missionaries. I have seen children in cities and villages in the bush. I have seen children only noticed when they are brats, and only seeing their teachers as mightier than they are, and with only fear. BUT I have never known African children so respectful AND so utterly free in the way they relate to their teachers as the orphan children in helper.

Andy Blake so models love and respect for all these children - from the littlies. to secondary level - that their teachers are equally loving. Andy is a good no-nonsense Brit reared in the best UK traditions and faithfulness, but he is frankly adored by all his precious tribe. He adores them! I take my Australian hat off to helper and all who support this compassionate and effective programme. He only 73, but is already affectionately known as “Babu’. There is often a culture of respect for age here, but what Andy has is earned.

The results speak for themselves: a highly-trained medical professional, an agronomist, and well-grounded educationalists have breezed through his small school. They continue to be his family when they move on to higher education, where they take their good attitudes with them.
At the heart of it.all is one thing: Andy who was repeatedly confronted by African poverty, injustice and helplessness in his past days as a pilot, is a man gripped by the love of God for him. This school truly lifts the name of Jesus.
